Director of Software Development & Technical Infrastructure
Trunk Archive is a full service image licensing agency representing the archives of the most engaging and sought after contemporary photographers in the world.
We are seeking a Director of Software Development & Technical Infrastructure to support the company’s current front and back-end systems as well as to participate in the growth of the company through creating, developing & implementing new systems to support new revenue opportunities.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for technical vision, strategy and structure of Trunk Archive’s systems.
• Responsible for technical infrastructure including, web hosting, data storage, back-up and recovery, network connections, user support, etc. Outsourcing activities and interacting with external providers, as appropriate.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining development calendar/road map and interacting with company management to determine needs, set priorities, etc.
• Responsible for all company systems, including: web site, order/invoices, accounting system integration, file delivery, rights management & digital asset management systems, artist accounting system, etc.
• Developing and maintaining good working relationship with digital imaging department and licensing agents.
• Main system architect and team leader for development group.
• Ensure adequate back-up, disaster recovery and system documentation procedures are in place and up-to-date.
• Ensure strong date security environment to image archive and access to front-end and back-end systems.
• Lead liaison between the technical group and the rest of the company.
Requirements:
• At least two years experience in running a shop in a business dealing with archiving.
• At least 5 years experience with web application development working with the following technologies:
o C#, .NET
o T-SQL (MS SQL Server)
o JavaScript, HTML and CSS
• Experience and knowledge of version control systems like Subversion or CVS.
• Search optimization skills are helpful.
• Additional experience with ActionScript and Flash is a plus but not a requirement.
• Experience and/or knowledge of image databases and video archiving is extremely helpful as well as working in entrepreneurial/creative environment.
• Must not be afraid to get your “hands dirty” in programming as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
